Bob: Thank you for these video blogs. It has been a month since I took the mindfulness course and i have slid back into my usual day to day activities and have not been taking time for mindfulness or meditation. Your blogs are a helpful way to touch back into the mindset and remind oneself of the helpful practices for day to day living. Jean

Sometimes we are so scared about those inter-times...it is like we have to answer quickly to fill the spaces...horror vacui...
I think that our fear full our mind and we react instead of being in this -between-
I hope mindfulness helps me to stay more in the between just to feel what it´s better for everybody...
thanks and sorry if the english is not perfect, I am argentinian speaking better french and spanish...

I think that some people are so horrible and sick that any contact with them is harmful. Robert committed himself to forgiving a terrible person, his brother. I think that death makes us feel guilty about our feelings, especially if they are very intense, for the deceased. I think that Robert did a very difficult and brave thing. I would tell him that he didn't need to force himself to forgive his abusive brother. Robert needs to understand or accept that he was the victim. He has nothing to feel guilty about. No matter what his brother said or did to him it wasn't his fault.

Hello, I am a pediatrician and an adolescent medicine specialist. I appreciate your post here. For many of the teens I care for, academic pressures, excess media time, and sleep deprivation all cause or excacerbate stress and depression. Sleep hygiene measures can be effective if used consistently - no music or TV in the bedroom, no caffeine in the afternoon, etc. We are also pilot testing a positive emotions and mindfulness intervention at a high-achieving, high stress high school to see if it may be helpful for adolescent stress, mental health, and sleep. Stay tuned!

When I remember to be uni-tasking (instead of multitasking) life takes on such richness. I appreciate the 2 minute rule. I often do something like that but considered myself to have some degree of ADHD for jumping from thing to thing but I am accomplishing what needs to be done. Thanks for sharing these useful tips!

Great Blog! Many thanks! Like your workbook which I have put on Mindfulnet's Mindfulness bookshop

Like you I am keen to demystify mindfulness and make it more accessible to people who have not tried it before, but would probably benefit from it.

I have just launched http://mindfulnet.org

Mindfulnet aims to provide "everything you need to know about mindfulness on one website".

Mindfulnet contains pages on Mindfulness in the workplace, education, judicial system as well as medical and therapeutic. It also contains a very extensive list of Mindfulness research, Links, resources, case studies and books. It also includes a page of the neuroscience of mindfulness.

The website is independent and non secular. It’s been a bit of a labour of love so I am hoping it will be a valuable mindfulness resource. Do let me know what you think

Kind regards

"It’s important to expose these subtle fears to gain more freedom over our days." Today I noticed I was getting a headache at about noon. I felt the pressure of getting all my tasks for the day complete, but I didn't realize I was actually afraid! When I took some time to reflect on it, I noticed that I was afraid that I would not be able to say the right thing or respond with the right answer in my upcoming meetings for the day. Then I realized how irrational that is, that generally I do know how to respond and that if I don't know an answer, that is ok! This immediately freed me up to continue my day. The fear is so subtle, yet can completely disrupt your well being. Thanks for the post!
